The Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region provides opportunities for all children to have a great start with quality early learning experiences.
With 68 regulated early childhood education and care services across the region including family day care (1 service), kindergartens (15), long day care (34) and school aged care (18) in addition to prep classes at school, the region has a broad variety of options for parents with young children within their local suburbs and beyond.
During their first five (5) years, children learn more than at any other time of their life. They learn from watching and interacting with those closest to them. Early childhood education adds to this through interactions with adults and other children in an intentional learning environment.
Parents Groups
If you're moving to the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region, finding a parents group will help you to find support and become part of the vibrant community. Get recommendations from friends who live locally, your local child care centre, the council or community organisations to find a parents group. You could also join a playgroup that provides an opportunity to socialise with other parents while your child has fun playing and learning.
Kindergarten
Kindergarten is also a great place for children to come together to play and learn, building on their strengths and interests to support their learning, wellbeing and development.
