The health care and social assistance industry is the region's largest employer. As a priority project, Capricorn Enterprise promotes the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region as a major health hub with innovative, effective and efficient healthcare, advanced service delivery, clinical and allied health training.
As our population grows, we are also ageing and require a wider range and greater number of health services. In the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region, we recognise that, while not all illness is preventable, there are ways in which we can improve our health and wellbeing.
Hospitals
Local hospitals are located in Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast, Mount Morgan and Rockhampton Hospitals which has two private hospitals, Hillcrest Hospital and Mater Private Hospital, in addition to the public Rockhampton Base Hospital.
You can be assured that Queensland's world-class healthcare system and dedicated staff will provide you with high quality care when you need it with five (5) hospitals, eight (8) ambulance stations, numerous medical centres and private health practitioners servicing the Capricorn Coast and Rockhampton region,.

In addition, at the Wellness Centre, located on the CQUniversity Rockhampton Campus, registered psychologists provide a range of psychology services to the children, adolescents and adults in the Central Queensland community. You can rely on the RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue when you need them the most. Operating across 350,000 square kilometres and looking after almost 300,000 residents the organisation facilitates the ongoing development and operation of a world class aerial search and rescue service with full aeromedical and counter disaster capabilities. The RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Service is a community based, non profit, registered charity.
