Skills for Tertiary Education Preparatory Studies (STEPS)

STEPS is a pathway for people wanting to start higher education. It’s suitable for you if you are returning to study or work after some time away, need to meet prerequisite subjects before starting your desired diploma or degree and you want some additional support to gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to successfully study. After finishing STEPS, you can apply for direct entry to almost any one of CQUniversity’s undergraduate courses.

Regional Partners

CQUniversity partners with regional university centres around Australia to provide a wide range of online courses with local support available at partner centres

Central Queensland Medical Pathway

A medical pathway to train up to 40 doctors each year in regional Queensland has been formalised between CQUniversity, the University of Queensland and the Central Queensland and Wide Bay Hospital and Health Services, with the first intake set for 2022.

Students will complete a three-year Bachelor of Medical Science at CQUniversity before moving to UQ’s four-year MD program and both will be offered in local areas.

The Regional Medical Pathway will build on the current UQ Rural Clinical School operating in Rockhampton, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay as well as smaller rural hospitals and general practices. It will enable students to have their placements, internships and further training opportunities in the region.

Allied Health Courses and the Rockhampton Health Clinic

Delivered by highly-qualified and experienced allied health teachers, students undertaking allied health courses at CQUniversity study in purpose-built clinics and laboratories which add essential practical experience to studies.
